Conducting World Mining Congress Events
The principle objective of the Russian Organizing Committee is the World Mining Congress activity management in Russia.
The Russian Organizing Committee holds and finances World Mining Congress meetings in Russia.
- The first Russian World Mining Congress took place in Moscow in 1967; there were more than 2000 of participants from 44 countries. The main theme of the Congress was «Technical Progress in the Mining Industry».
- On May 14, 2009 St. Petersburg hosted the 90th Meeting of the World Mining Congress’s Organizing Committee
Members of the Russian Organizing Committee take active part in international events held by the World Mining Congress:
- The delegation from the Russian Organizing Committee visited China in October 2009. The purpose of the meeting was acquaintance with enterprises of the industry, visiting the World Coal Summit. Professor G.L. Krasniansky, Chairman of the Russian Organizing Committee, presented a report.
