In terms of labour efficiency the Russian coal-mining industry is significantly behind other coal-mining countries. The average labour efficiency at open cut is 7.5 times lower in Russia than in Australia, and 6.5 times lower than in the USA; at underground production it is 5.3 and 4.5 times lower than in the USA and Australia, respectively.
